Western Visayas tallied an impressive total of 158 medals, composed of 58 golds, 52 silvers and 48 bronzes, after a week of intense competition against the countryโ€™s top collegiate athletes.

โ€œIt is the first time for Region VI to place second overall champion in the National SCUAA Games and we are very proud of this achievement,โ€ said Dr. Leomar de los Santos, sports director of Iloilo Science and Technology University, who accepted the trophy on behalf of the region during the awarding ceremony at the Cong. Pedro Palarca-Romualdo Grandstand.

The National Capital Region (NCR) secured the overall championship with 149 gold medals and a total of 272 medals. Region 3 finished third with 54 gold medals and 181 total medals.
