16 Calinog cops test positive for COVID-19

A total of 16 personnel of the Calinog police station in Iloilo province have contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The infected police officers are currently staying in a quarantine facility inside the Philippine National Police (PNP) compound in Barangay Agcalaga.

Police Captain Marvin Villanieva of the Regional PNP Mobile said it’s still unclear how the cops got the deadly virus.

As of Wednesday, May 19, Calinog recorded 223 confirmed cases of the disease, among the highest in the whole province.

Of the figure, 183 have recovered, three have died, and 37 are considered active.

Passi City has the highest active cases of COVID-19 with 61, followed by Maasin (53), Oton (47), Guimbal (38) Pavia (36), Sta. Barbara (35) Miagao (10), Concepcion (27), Barotac Nievo (25), and Igbaras (22).IMT
