More than 1,000 road crash incidents occurred in the province of Iloilo in the first three months of 2025, data from the provincial office of the Philippine National Police (PNP) showed.
From January 1 to March 24 this year, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) logged 1,082 road crashes, which claimed 42 lives.
The incidents also resulted in 674 cases of damage to property and 366 cases of physical injury.
Police Major Rolando Araño, spokesperson of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), said most of the incidents were caused by reckless driving.
Other causes were drunk driving, overspeeding, mechanical defects of vehicles, and poor road condition.
Motorcycles accounted for the most number of vehicles involved in the crashes.IMT
