There were no immediate reports of damage or injury in Iloilo City following the 6.6 magnitude earthquake that struck Catalingan, Masbate on Tuesday morning, Aug. 18.

The quake, which had a depth of 21 kilometers and was tectonic in origin, was felt in the city at Intensity III.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanolgy and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said the quake was traced seven kilometers southwest of the Cataingan town at around 8:03 a.m.

The tremor was also felt in Sagay City, Negros Occidental (Intensity VI); President Roxas in Capiz (Intensity II), Patnongon, San Jose de Buenavista, and Tibiao in Antique (Intensity II), and Lezo in Aklan (Intensity I).
