A six-day gun ban will be enforced during the celebration of this year’s Dinagyang Festival.

Police Colonel Martin Defensor, Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) director, said their request to suspend permits to carry firearms outside of residence (PTCFOR) was already approved by the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters at Camp Crame in Manila.

The suspension will be in effect from Jan. 22 to 27.

The suspension is part of the ICPO’s security measures. It aims to prevent firearms-related incidents during the celebration of Dinagyang’s 52nd anniversary.

Dinagyang 2020 officially kicked off on Friday, Jan. 10 and will culminate on Jan. 26. IMT
