Several traffic enforcers in Iloilo City were dismissed from service due to “misconduct,” according to the Iloilo City Traffic Management Unit (ICTMU).
Retired police colonel Uldarico Garbanzos, head of the city government’s ICTMU, said nine traffic personnel were found to have committed offenses.
The dismissal, according to Garbanzos, stemmed from complaints lodged by motorists against the personnel.
The ICTMU chief did specify what violations those involved were committed that led to their dismissal but assured that due process was observed.
Garbanzos said they do not tolerate erring traffic enforcers to protect the integrity of ICTMU and the city government as a whole.
Currently, the city nearly 400 traffic enforcers me manning the streets by shift.IMT
