Nine graduates from two universities in Iloilo obtained the highest scores in the October 2024 Licensure Examination for Fisheries Professionals.
The University of the Philippine Visayas (UPV) produced eight topnotchers while the Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology (ISUFST-Main) had one.
UPV alumnus Aj March Ryanne Felongco clinched the top spot in the board exam with a rating of 91.75%.
Julie Ann Nique ranked fourth with a rating of 90.75%, followed by Thea Irish Pentason (6th, 90.25%), and Bea Isobelle Villaluz (7th, 89.75%).
Cryselle Anne Barniso, Vyenge Erre Gayosa, Ma. Sandrei Sarmiento, Shylamar Sañor occupied the 10th spot with a rating of 89.00%.
ISUFST-Main alumna Aivie Padohinog also secured the 10th spot.
Meanwhile, UPV was the top performing school in the board exam with a 97.67% passing rate or 42 of its 43 examinees made the cut.
ISUFST-Main placed fifth in the list with a passing rate of 80.00% ( 32 out of 40).
All in all, 1,005 out of 1,509 examinees passed the board exam given in Iloilo and 15 other areas in the country.
