The Department of Agriculture (DA) will launch a program in the coming weeks to provide all Filipinos with affordable rice.

In a news forum over the weekend, Assistant Secretary Genevieve Guevarra said the “Rice-for-All” program will offer rice, a staple food among Filipino households, that costs between P45 and P48 per kilogram.

The DA official said the agency intends to offer “Rice-for-All” in KADIWA centers first, and then in other areas.

Last week, the DA launched its P29 program that offers P29 per kilo of rice for vulnerable sectors including those under the government’s conditional cash transfer program, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and solo parents.IMT
