Typhoon Ursula destroyed millions of pesos worth of agricultural crops in the province of Iloilo.
Damage to agriculture, based on data from the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC-6), was estimated at P24, 024, 231.33 as of Sunday, Dec. 29.
Affected crops include, among others, rice and corn in the towns of Mina, Concepcion, Janiuay, and Dingle.
The typhoon damaged P14 million worth of rice crops. Damage to other crops was pegged at P10 million.
The figure are expected to further increase as the RDRRMC-6 has not yet to fully assess the damage to crops.
Ursula, which made landfall twice on Panay Island on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, flooded agricultural lands in low-lying towns.
