Alexie Mae Caimoso Brooks of Iloilo City is among the 55 official candidates of this year’s Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH), one of the most prestigious beauty pageants in the country.
The candidates were introduced by the MUPH organization at Hilton Manila on Sunday, Feb. 18. They were selected through local pageants.
Brooks was crowned Miss Iloilo 2024 last January 13. She bested 14 other candidates to win the title and represent the city in the national pageant.
“Manifesting, working, and claiming — a journey of gratitude. Thank you, Universe,” the 22-year-old athlete said.
Brooks is a native of Leon town in Iloilo province. She was born to an Ilongga mother and a black American father in Lebanon but raised in Iloilo.
The MUPH coronation night is scheduled on May 22.IMT
