The grandmother of Ilongga beauty queen Alexie Mae Caimoso-Brooks was laid to rest in Leon, Iloilo on Sunday, Sept. 29.
In her heartfelt message during the funeral mass, Brooks said she considers Basilisa “Lola Basing” Caimoso her “greatest love.”
Lola Basing, the woman who raised Brooks by selling vegetables at their hometown’s public market, passed away on Sept. 9. She was 85.
“Tanan nga dalagan ko, tanan nga rampa ko, tanan nga hambal ko para kanimo (Lola Basing),” the national athlete and reigning Miss Iloilo said.
“And I will love you with everything that I am and with everything that I have,” the Miss Eco International Philippines 2025 added.
The funeral mass for Lola Basing was held at St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish Church. It was attended by family members, friends and community members.IMT
