Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo said that she will not run for reelection in the 2025 elections.
Guo, who is facing graft, qualified human trafficking, money laundering, and tax evasion charges, confirmed this during Tuesday’s (Oct. 8) resumption of the Senate probe on POGO.
“Your Honor, sa ngayon, hindi po,” Guo said when asked by Senator Jinggoy Estrada if she planned to run for mayor next year.
“Haharapin ko po muna ‘yong mga accusations po sa akin. Linisin ko po muna ‘yong sarili ko po. At para maging fair din po para sa mga constituents ko po na minamahal ko po,” she added.
Her lawyer, Stephen David, earlier claimed that Guo, now detained at the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory, would run for mayor.IMT
