Almost 98 percent of villages in the province of Iloilo have been “cleared of illegal drugs,” according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-6).

The province has a total of 1,721 barangays, 945 of which are identified by PDEA-6 as drug-affected.

Ma. Graziella Tanaleon, PDEA-6 spokesperson, said of the drug-affected barangays, 97.79 percent or 907 are now considered “cleared.”

Twelve of the remaining drug-affected barangays are in the town of Oton, 10 in Dumangas, 3 in Tubungan, 2 in Balasan, and 1 each in Calinog, Pototan, San Enrique, and Sara.IMT
