The holding of the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) in Iloilo City on Monday, Oct. 30, was “generaly peaceful.”

Police Colonel Joeresty Coronica,  Iloilo City Police Office  (ICPO) head, said they have not recorded any case of election-related violence.

“This means that our 2023 BSKE is generally peaceful.”

The city has a total of 330 thousand voters. They casted their votes  from 7 a.m. 3 p.m.

ICPO also logged zero cases of election candidates engaged in vote-buying and vote-selling.

In a statement, City Mayor Jerry Treñas congratulated  all the winners in the polls.

“Now that our people have decided it is incumbent that we all support all the newly elected officials for the good of our barangays,” he said.

“Let us all unite for our barangays and our city,” Treñas added.IMT
