President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has directed the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to ensure peaceful, credible, and orderly elections on May 12, emphasizing the need to uphold democracy.

“Once again we find ourselves at a critical juncture where we have to preserve not only the integrity of our election, but the very ethos of our democracy,” Marcos Jr. said during the oath-taking of newly promoted AFP Generals, Flag Officers, and Foreign Pre-Commission Training Institutions (FPCTI) graduates in Malacañang.

The President reminded the AFP of its commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty, as reaffirmed during the Solidarity Pact Signing for the 2025 elections.

He also urged military leaders to embody the values of discipline, patriotism, and service to the greater good.

“As your Commander-in-Chief, I offer you my salute and express my utmost appreciation to all your selfless sacrifices and services, not only to get to this point but all through the years of your duty,” said Marcos Jr.

He also expressed gratitude to the families of soldiers for their sacrifices in supporting their careers.

A total of 35 AFP generals and flag officers were promoted, while nine FPCTI personnel completed their training.IMT
