Mayor Jerry Treñas on Tuesday, Sept. 6, announced the return of the in-person celebration of Iloilo City’s Dinagyang Festival.

“It is high time we go back into the streets and exclaim:Viva! Viva! Señor Sto. Niño!” Treñas said in a Facebook post.

The post was accompanied by a teaser video for the 2023 edition of the world-famous festival.

“We are starting the first month of 2023 with a bang as the bigger and brighter celebration of faith goes back to the streets of the City of Love!” Treñas said.

“Dinagyang Festival, a reminder of the Ilonggos’ faith to Señor Sto. Niño, is back with a roar on January 13-22, 2023,” he added.

For the past two years, the Dinagyang Festival was held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.IMT
