Tourists are no longer required to submit hotel vouchers online before they are allowed entry into Boracay Island in Malay town, Aklan province.
This, after Governor Jose Enrique Miraflores issued an executive order (EO) scrapping the hotel voucher requirement.
The requirement was imposed by the provincial government as a measure against the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Travelers and returning residents needed to secure hotel vouchers or tourist QR codes via the AKQUIRE System before visiting the island.
To obtain QR codes, visitors must present proof of identification, confirmed hotel bookings, negative RT-PCR test results, round trip flights, and other travel details.
Miraflores signed EO 097 (Series of 2023) after he met with the 2nd Boracay-Caticlan Sustainable Development Council (BCSDC).IMT
