More than 1.7 million tourists visited Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan in the first 11 months of 2024.
Based on data from the Malay-Boracay Tourism Office (MBTO), the world-famous island accommodated 1,759,979 tourists from Jan. 1 to Nov. 10.
Of the number, 1.3 million were domestic visitors while 350,000 were foreigners.
Boracay targets to record 2.1 million tourists this year, higher than its 2023 target of 1.8 milllon.
Katherine Licerio, MBTO information officer, said they are confident that they will hit their 2024 target.
Boracay is known for its powdery white sand and crystal clear waters.IMT
