Starting next month, barangay workers in the province of Iloilo will receive higher honoraria.
This was announced by Provincial Population Office (PHO) head Atty. Ruel Von Superio during the 2024 Provincial BSPO Congress on Monday, Nov. 18.
“I want to let you know that the Local Finance Committee has allocated a budget for [the increase],” he said.
Barangay Service Point Officers (BSPOs), Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), daycare workers, and barangay tanods will get an increase of P1,000 effective December 2024.
The increase will bring the monthly honorarium of BSPOs, BHWs, BNS, and daycare workers to P5,000 from P4,000.
Meanwhile, tanods or public safety officers will receive a monthly honorarium of P3,000 from P2,000.
Currently, there are 8,766 BHWs, 2,218 BSPOs, 1,725 BNS, 1,820 daycare workers and 15,395 tanods in the province.IMT
