A passenger bus caught fire while traversing the road in Barangay Culob, Anilao, Iloilo on Friday morning, April 12.

According to the Anilao Fire Station, the blaze emanated from the back part of the Ceres Liner Bus, which was heading to Iloilo City.

The bus, owned by Vallacar Transit Incorporated, was loaded with 45 passengers when the fire broke out at around 9:50 a.m.

All the passengers and bus personnel were able to disembark safely. No one was reported injured in the incident.

Senior Fire Officer 3 (SFO3) Gosur Castillo, acting municipal fire marshal, said the fire, based on their initial investigation, was caused by a fuel leak.

Fire investigators estimated the cost of damage at P1 million.IMT
