Businesses operating in Iloilo City once again reminded to secure permits and pay corresponding taxes.
Norman Tabud, head of the Iloilo City Government’s Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO), said the Joint Inspection Team (JIT) has been doing the rounds in the metropolis since Feb. 3.
JIT was reconstituted by Mayor Jerry P. Treñas through an executive order issued last month.
It is composed of representatives of BPLO, City Treasurer’s Office, City Health Office, Office of the City Zoning Administration, City Engineer’s Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, City Environment and Natural Resources Office, City Tourism and Development Office, Boarding House Commission, and Task Force on Internet.
“Because of the persistent inspection and monitoring on establishments, we have been receiving additional applications for business permits,” Tabud said.
In a previous report by IMT NEWS, Treñas said closure orders will be immediately served to erring business operators.
“Wala na ni warning. Kon mahibaluan nga wala ka permit, close dayon,” he stressed.
The renewal of business permits in the city ended last Jan. 20.IMT
