Tribu Jalaud of Calinog town, Iloilo emerged as champion in Kasadayan sa Kabanwahanan of this year’s Dinagyang Festival.
The tribe bested seven other contigents that joined in the cultural dance competion on Saturday, Jan. 21.
Jalaud, which performanced in four judging areas, bagged a cash prize of P400,000 and a trophy.
Aside from the coveted title, the tribe also won the Best in Costume, Best Designer, Best in Choreography, Best Choreographer, and Best in Street Dance awards.
Meanwhile, Guban Manughaw-as of Dumangas town finished first runner-up. It also grabbed the Best in Performance award.
Tribu Madja-as of Culasi town, Antique and Tribu of La Carlota City, Negroso Occidental were second and third runners-up, respectively.
Madja-as also bagged the Best In Music and Best Musical director awards.
The awarding ceremony was held on Sunday Night, Jan. 22, at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand, City Proper.
