Iloilo City Hall workers have been disallowed to bring their pets “during office hours in their office premises.”
The “No Pets at Work Policy,” which covers job hires, employees under contract of services, and regular employees, was ordered by City Mayor Jerry Treñas.
“While it is the policy of the Iloilo City Government to be pet friendly, such policy should be in line with the duty of local government units to provide efficient and effective services to the Ilonggos,” Executive Order (EO) No. 002, Series of 2025 stated.
“Employees of the Iloilo City Government must be reminded that they are paid by, and serving the people, and thus they must not play with their pets while working,” the EO further stated.
Dated Jan. 6, 2025, the EO takes effect immediately.IMT
