One of Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas’ executive assistants has tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Jeck Conlu, spokesperson of the city government’s COVID-19 Team, said the executive assistant had himself tested after he experienced symptoms of the disease.
The result, which was released over the weekend, turned out positive for SARS-CoV2, the virus that causes COVID-19.
Conlu said all the infected EA’s staffers and close contacts underwent swab testing and yielded negative results.
Conlu did not identify the executive assistant who contracted the disease.
Last month, one of Treñas’ official drivers was also infected with COVID-19.
Upon learning, the mayor said he and his whole family were immediately swab-tested. Their test results turned out negative.IMT
