The daily average number of new COVID-19 infections in the province of Iloilo increased to more than 50, data from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) showed.
From July 10 to 23, PHO recorded 750 COVID-19 cases or an average of 53 cases a day, higher compared to 412 cases or 9 cases a day from June 26 to July 9.
The province’s two-week growth rate, one of the metrics used by the government in determining any significant rise in COVID-19 cases, was 82.03 percent.
According to PHO head Maria Socorro Quiñon, the province was at “moderate risk” for the viral disease.
Meanwhile, 86.57 percent of the province’s eligible population are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus as of July 26.
The province has also vaccinated 75.11 percent of its target senior citizen population.IMT
