The number of confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Western Visayas has risen to more than 600.
The Department of Health (DOH-6) reported on Tuesday, July 14, 19 new cases, bringing the total infections in the region to 611.
Of the new cases, 11 are residents of Negros Occidental, four are from Iloilo province, and two each are from the cites of Iloilo and Bacolod.
All the two new COVID-19 cases in Iloilo City are indigenous and the rest involved locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
The DOH-6 also recorded 34 new COVID-19 survivors, bringing the regional recovery count to 224.
Majority or 26 of those patients who recovered are residents of Iloilo City while eight are from Negros Occidental.
Twenty-six of the recoveries involved LSIs, seven are OFWs and one resident of Iloilo City infected through local transmission.
