Iloilo Provincial Capitol workers who physically report for work during the implementation of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) and modified ECQ in the province may look forward to receiving COVID-19 hazard pay and other benefits.

The Provincial Development Council unanimously approved a resolution endorsing to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) and requesting for the inclusion of the Supplemental Annual Investment Program No. 3-2021 to the Annual Investment Program (AIP) for 2021 in the amount of P1.3 billion.

The amount includes the grant of hazard pay, special risk allowance, Collective Negotiation Agreements and other benefits due to the Capitol employees amounting to P180 million.

According to Joecil Mayor, president of the Association of Iloilo Provincial Government Employees (AIPGE), recipients of the hazard pay are regular employees, casual employees, and job order workers.

“Pareho lang nga amount ang ila mabaton as long nga indi maglapaw sang P500 a day, amo ni ang maximum nga amount nga mabaton nila while we are under ECQ or MECQ,” he said in an interview on IMT Conversations.

“Ginapanugyan ta aton mga emplehado nga hulaton ta guidelines sang gobyerno probinsyal nga magadetermine kon pila ang incentive nga pwede mahatag sa mga empleyado. Yara pa subong sa mga kamot sang SP ang pag-approve kag pangitaan pa sang pundo sang aton local finance,” he added.

The province is under MECQ. Based on the August 11 bulletin released by the Provincial Health Office, it has 2,852 active cases of COVID-19.IMT
