Iloilo City Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon has contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“I am saddened to inform you that Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon has been found to be positive in his re-swab for RT-PCR test,” said Mayor Jerry P. Treñas in a statement issued Sunday afternoon, Aug. 30.
Ganzon, according to Treñas, is classified as “asymptomatic positive” by his doctor.
“Let us continue to pray for him as we continue to pray for all Ilonggos facing the challenges of COVID-19,” the mayor said.
Ganzon was admitted to a hospital last on Thursday, Aug. 27, after he experienced vomiting and fever.
The vice mayor’s X-ray results showed that he “has acute onset pneumonia.”IMT
