The risk of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) transmission in Iloilo City remains low, according to Mayor Jerry Treñas.

“Ang Iloilo City sa data sang DOH[-6] (Department of Health), nabutang kita sa low-risk. I think the cases are under control,” said Treñas.

But the mayor said Ilonggos “should never be careless” and continue to strictly practice the minimum public health standards such as wearing of face masks and face shields, washing of hands, and observance of physical distancing.

“Because we understand nga parehas didto sa Antique, and mga sidewalk vendors ga-positive na kung i-swab. Bal-an ta man nga may nagabukas nga karinderya sa aton kabarangayan, we do not really know if they are observing strictly the medical health protocols. Amo na nga halong lang kita permi,” said Treñas.

The city, which is currently under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), has 337 active cases of COVID-19, based on the April 12 bulletin issued by the DOH-6.IMT
