A punong barangay in the town of Lambunao, Iloilo has died of complications due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Edgardo Legarda Gonzales, 85, of Barangay Daanbanwa passed away while being treated at Iloilo Mission Hospital in Iloilo City.
The death of Gonzales was confirmed by her daughter, Flordee Gonzales Amon, on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
Gonzales is the second COVID-19 patient from Lambunao who died. The town’s first fatality involved a 70-year-old man.
As of Sept. 1, the Municipal Health Office recorded a total of 50 confirmed infections of COVID-19, including 45 recoveries, 2 deaths, and 3 active cases.IMT
