Following her sterling performances in the local scene, a volleybelle from Central Philippine University (CPU) has been selected to be part of the De La Salle University Lady Spikers.
Zacchea Maganto of CPU Golden Lions secondary girls volleyball team formalized her commitment to the Lady Spikers following her meeting with head coach Ramil de Jesus and team manager Claudia Cojuangco recently.
The native of Iloilo City will fly to Manila after she finish her 10th Grade, pursuing her senior high school next year and start training with the Lady Spikers team in preparation for college.
Before, Maganto is a consistent star player in various local tournaments. In fact, she
represented the country as part of the Philippine girls volleyball team that competed in the Asian Women’s U-18 Volleyball Championships last year in Thailand.
She also spearheaded the Golden Lions and Western Visayas team to a championship in the National Private School Athletic Association (PRISAA) Meet where she bagged the Most Valuable Player award along with Best Opposite Spiker award.
Maganto also nearly steered the Golden Lions to Palarong Pambansa but they lost to powerhouse Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts in the Western Visayas qualification round.
Joining the Lady Spikers, Maganto will share playing time with fellow Ilongga Amie Provido and Negrense Angel Canino.IMT Sports
