Showing wise moves on the board, Central Philippine University chessers have dominated the Commission on Higher Education (CHED-6) Online Chess Tournament 2024.
Topping the men’s category, Hubert Canto, 3rd year College of Law student from Central Philippine University (CPU) outsmarted John Joseph Fuentes and Jerico Mabuyao of Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U).
In the women’s category, Centralian Honey Rose Chavez Tipan won the tournament after displaying great results. The BS Psychology student blasted Jamie Singson and Janna Remus from University of St. La Salle Bacolod.
A total of 137 players from different schools in Western Visayas joined the online tournament organized by CHED-6.IMT Sports
