Iloilo has two contingents for this year’s edition of Aliwan Fiesta, an event that gathers the biggest festivals in the country.

The Dinagyang Festival of Iloilo City and the Tultugan Festival of Maasin town in Iloilo province are among the 15 contingents that will compete in the Street Dancing Competition on June 29 in Pasay City.

Dinagyang will be represented by Tribu Pan-ay of Fort San Pedro National High School, the grand champion in the Dinagyang Tribes Competition last January.

The city’s festival is the defending champion of the national competition. It was represented by Tribu Parianon last year.

Meanwhile, Tultugan emerged as the grand winner of the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan 2024, one of the highlights of the Dinagyang Festival.

The other contingents are Lakbayaw Festival (City of Manila), Panagbenga Flower Festival (Baguio City), Bodong Festival (Rizal, Kalinga), Daing Festival (Sto. Tomas, La Union), Halamanan Festival (Guiguinto, Bulacan), Dinamulag Mango Festival (Iba, Zambales), Panagkakadua-an Festival (San Felipe, Zambales), Antipolo Maytime Festival (Antipolo City), Hamaka Festival (Taytay, Rizal), Niyogyugan Festival (Pagbilao, Quezon), Sinulog Festival (Cebu), and Meguyaya Festival (Upi, Maguindanao del Norte).

They will be judged based on theme/concept (35%), choreography (20%), performance (20%), costume (15%), and props (10%).IMT
