Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. has refused to rate the performance of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., who is set to deliver his third State of the Nation Address (SONA) this month.

In a press conference on Wednesday, July 10, Defensor was asked to give a numerical score on how Marcos is performing as the country’s highest elected official.

“I don’t give out numbers because it’s challenging to actively describe a perfect performance. Nothing is perfect, and I don’t expect anyone to give me a perfect score either,” he responded.

Instead, Defensor thanked the administration of Marcos for including Iloilo as one of its priorities.

“We are always at the forefront of the administration’s programs and priorities. Based on that, we are happy and thankful, and we are looking forward to working closely with the administration,” he said.

Defensor, meanwhile, expects that Marcos will mention Iloilo in his SONA on July 22.

“The President has always highlighted his plans for Iloilo and we anticipate hearing about new development projects for the province and the entire region,” the governor said.

Defensor currently serves as the regional chairperson  of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), the President’s political party.IMT
