Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. has urged the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) to settle the unpaid reimbursement claims of hospitals in the province of Iloilo.
As of Aug. 25, 2020, PhilHealth owed 13 Iloilo Provincial Government-run hospitals about P90 million.
Defensor said he already talked to lawyer Valerie Anne Hollero, PhilHealth-6 vice president, and the latter assured him that they would settle their dues.
PhilHealth’s non-payment of its debts, according to Defensor, would affect the financial status and services being provided by the hospitals.
Hollero was among the PhilHealth officials who decided to go on leave amid the ongoing investigations into alleged anomalies hounding the government-owned health insurer. IMT
