Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. on Tuesday, June 29, said he has no plan to appeal to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) to downgrade Iloilo province’s modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) status.
“We will not appeal. Batunon ta na sya with some adjustments lang siguro ang aton himuon,” said Defensor.
According to the governor, the adjustments will be based on the Omnibus Guidelines set by the (IATF-MEID).
Defensor is set to issue an executive order (EO) today, June 30, imposing adjusted protocols.
The municipal quarantine, which mandates local government units (LGUs) in the province to set up checkpoints in their respective borders, will be lifted.
“It’s a short-term measure that must end. Indi mo na sya pwede mapadugay. At least we have maximized it, nakabulig gid sya sa aton MECQ sang nagligad nga mga semana,” said Defensor.
“Maconcentrate kita sa reverse isolation kag minimum health standards sa workplace kay dira gid subong nagahalin and aton transmission kag nagpuli sa balay,” he added.
Starting July 1, those who want travel within the province will no longer need to secure travel passes.
On the other hand, restaurants and other food establishments in the province will be limited to take-out and deliveries only.
“Let’s maximize the protocols. Gin-usisa na ina naton, ginlibot, kag gin-obserhaban, hina ang aton compliance sa mga protocols nga gin-impose naton, ang barriers, seating arrangements, especially small establishments. So kon indi mo masunod ang protocols, sundon ko nalang and Omnibus Guidelines,” said Defensor.IMT
