Arthur Defensor Jr. and Jerry Treñas will remain as governor of Iloilo province and mayor of Iloilo City, respectively.

Based on data from the Transparency Media Server of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Defensor earned a whopping 891,980 votes. His opponent Noli Gil got only 25,919 votes.

Incumbent Vice Governor Christine “Tingting” Garin, who ran unopposed, garnered 725,282 votes.

In the city, meanwhile, Treñas, with 187,691 votes, won by a wide margin over his opponents Jun Capulot (54,552) and Vicente Ang (789).

His running mate, incumbent Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon, got 164,570 votes, way higher compared to 41,667 votes gathered by his opponent Kayser Jadulos.

Winners in the city council race are Sedfrey Cabaluna, Miguel Trenas, Alan Zaldivar, Frances Grace Parcon, Doc Nick Love Baronda, Rudolph Roding Ganzon, Rex Sarabia, Candice Tupas, Johnny Young, Romel Duron, Ely Estante, and Plaridel Nava.

In the city’s congressional race, incumbent Representative Jamjam Baronda (147,834 votes) defeated Joe Espinosa III (84,168), Juni Espinosa (1,666), and Rudy Bantolo (1,445).IMT
