Walk-in transactions in the Department of Foreign Affairs’ (DFA) consular office in Iloilo City resumed on Wednesday, March 16.

Sheila Marie Tu, DFA Consular Iloilo officer-in-charge, said they reopened their courtesy lane for walk-in applicants.

Those qualified to access the courtesy lane include the following:

  • Senior citizens – senior citizen identification card (may be accompanied by one adult)
  • Pregnant applicants – with medical certificate for proof of pregnancy
  • Solo parents – with valid solo parent ID
  • Persons with disability (PWD) – with valid PWD ID
  • Minors aged 7 and below – accompanied by parent or legal guardian, with original and photocopy of minor’s Philippine Statistics Association birth certificate printed on security paper
  • Overseas Filipino workers – with any of the following: valid Overseas Workers Welfare Administration E-card, valid employment contract, valid work visa, seafarer’s identification and record book

They are also required to bring their vaccination cards or certificates.

Regular applicants, according to Tu, still need to go online to secure slots for passport appointments.

Earlier, City Mayor Jerry Treñas appealed to the DFA to open more appointment slots especially for Ilonggos working abroad.

“It has come to my attention that many of our beloved OFWs are having a hard time making an appointment with the Department of Foreign Affairs – Iloilo Office,” he said.IMT
