The celebration of the Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo City this year was made more fun and vibrant by activities prepared by DITO Telecommunity, the country’s fastest growing telecommunications provider.

DITO treated Ilonggos and visitors to lively concert performances, engaging experiential booths, exciting games and contests, and delightful gastronomic activities for three days from January 26 to 28.

It also sponsored the festival’s major activities, including the Miss Iloilo Coronation Night, ILOmination Street Dance Competition and Floats Parade of Lights, Dinagyang Tribes Competition and the Awarding Ceremony.

During the coronation night on January 13, Alexie Mae Caimoso Brooks of Leon, bagged the Miss Iloilo 2024 crown and the Miss DITO Telecommunity special award.

“We are thrilled to be part of this year’s Dinagyang Festival. DITO is honored to enhance the overall enjoyment and connectivity. Facilitating such connections is at the core of DITO’s mission, as we strive to unite Filipinos through meaningful cultural celebrations like this one,” said Evelyn Jimenez, DITO Chief Commercial Officer.

DITO set up interactive booths in the city’s downtown area, where Dinagyang revelers enjoyed a variety of games and activities. The booths also showcased DITO’s value for money products, encompassing mobile prepaid, and postpaid services, as well as DITO Home 5G WIFI prepaid and postpaid options.

The telecommunications company elevated the festive atmosphere in the city with an electrifying musical experience featuring stellar performances by the renowned band Kamikazee and local bands and DJs.

A standout event during this year’s Dinagyang was the DITO Todo Gaming, Sayawan and Kantahan. DITO subscribers enthusiastically participated in the dancing and singing competitions, showcasing their talents either individually or as part of a group. The ultimate champions for the competitions won a total prize of P50,000.

Dinagyang, the country’s most awarded festival, clinched the “Best Tourism Event” award by the Association of Tourism Officers in the Philippines (ATOP) for three consecutive years in 2006, 2007, and 2008.

The world-renowned festival was also recognized as the first ATOP Hall of Fame Best Tourism Event in 2009.

“In the Philippines, festivals are crucial in showcasing and celebrating our national identity. Acknowledging the role of these celebrations in fostering connections among Filipinos, DITO is committed to energizing and sustaining Philippine festivals that strengthen the bonds uniting us as a nation,” said Jimenez.IMT
