The Department of Justice is planning to send a team to Malaysia to investigate how dismissed Bamban, Tarlac, mayor Alice Guo illegally left the Philippines for Kuala Lumpur.
“We may have to send a team to Malaysia to follow up on the origin of the aircraft that brought Alice Guo to Kuala Lumpur. ‘Yan ang mahalaga,” Justice Secretary Boying Remulla told reporters.
Remulla said they need to find out which aircraft brought Alice and her companions to the Malaysian capital.
“Ang aircraft ang mahalaga malaman natin. We have to find out what aircraft was used to leave the country and to bring their party to Kuala Lumpur,” according to him.
Earlier, Shiela Guo claimed that she, Alice, and Wesley left the Philippines on several boat rides.
But, Immigration Commissioner Joel Viado said that Alice arrived in Malaysia by pl;ane on July 18, 2024.
“Nung una, sinabi ni Shiela Guo na sa banca sila sumakay. Ako na yung unang nagsalita na ang tingin ko hindi totoo. Eh para namang napatunayan naman natin na hindi totoo nangyari dito,” said Remulla.
Alice is facing serious charges, including graft, qualified human trafficking, money laundering, and tax evasion for her supposed role in illegal offshore gambling operations.IMT
