Ilonggo Senator Franklin Drilon assured Ilonggos that if Vice President Leni Robredo is elected president in the 2022 elections, Iloilo will regain its economic growth momentum.
“Iloilo’s economy can get a fresh start when we can have a leader that we can really depend on,” said Drilon.
According to the senator, the development of Iloilo has been stymied by the COVID-19 pandemic and the inadequate push and support from the national government.
“While we have attained so much for our province and our city, the pandemic has stymied our development. There’s more to be done and the development of Iloilo remains a work in progress,” said Drilon.
“What we need is a leader who will support our vision and help us attain new heights of economic and social success,” he added.
The senator is confident that Robredo, who is a lawyer, an economist and a social worker, will “bring back good governance that helped Iloilo achieved progress and development in the past years.”
“We were able to bring big-ticket projects that brought tremendous growth to our beloved province and city, because of the tremendous support from the national government during the administration [of the late president Benigno S. Aquino III],” said Drilon.
“We achieved so much in the past years because of good governance that should be the hallmark of every administration,” he stressed.
Among the big-ticket projects brought Drilon to Iloilo are the Jalaur River Multi-Purpose Project Phase II, Iloilo Convention Center, 15-kilometer (km) Sen. Benigno Aquino Avenue, 14-km four-lane circumferential road, Pres. Corazon Aquino Avenue, and the awarded and recognized Iloilo River Esplanade.
Robredo will be in Iloilo City today, Dec. 3, to “meet and personally thank her thousands of Ilonggo supporters and meet with local leaders.”
“Let’s show our support and love to Vice President Leni Robredo,” said Drilon.IMT
