More than P20 million worth of suspected crystal meth or “shabu” was confiscated from three high-value individuals (HVIs) during a buy-bust operation at Dolmax Subdivision in Barangay Camalig, Jaro, Iloilo City.

The operation was conducted by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) of the Police Regional Office (PRO-6) on Thursday, Nov. 9 .

The suspects were identified through their aliases as “Shanon,” “Anne” and “Rose Anne” to avoid jeopardizing follow-up operations. They yielded three kilograms of shabu with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P20.4 million.

Police Captain Glenn Soliman, RPDEU head, said the three were arrested after they sold a sachet of shabu worth P14,000 to a puseur buyer.

The suspects, who are in police custody, will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“Shanon has a record of arrest for violation of Republic Act 9165 and robbery. We consider them a big shabu warehouse in the province and city of  Iloilo City,” Soliman said.IMT
