Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III is expected to lead the launch of the vaccination program in pharmacies and clinics in Iloilo City anytime soon.

The national government’s ‘Resbakuna sa Botika’, which was first rolled out in Metro Manila on Jan. 20, aims to make COVID-19 jabs accessible to more people.

Under the program, each participating pharmacy will get 500 vaccine doses per week, which will be administered for free.

Duque is also set to visit the Iloilo City Modular Hospital in Barangay So-oc, Arevalo district, which has a total of 77 beds.

The fully completed 33-bed structure was recently turned over by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to the city government. The construction of two other structures with 22 beds each is still underway.

The facilities will be operational once the DOH gives a go signal.

Duque earlier committed to send nurses and doctors to augment field hospitals’ personnel.IMT
