Representative Julienne “Jamjam” Baronda’s bill seeking to establish the Iloilo City Hospital (ICH) has been signed into law.
Former president Rodrigo Duterte signed the measure a day before he stepped down from office on June 30.
Under Act No. 11891, the Iloilo City Government will get funding from the national government for the construction of ICH, which was already approved by the Department of Health (DOH).
Baronda hailed the passage of the law and thanked Duterte for approving the establishment of the hospital.
“I’m over the moon with its passage. This piece of legislation will greatly improve our capacity to provide affordable and quality health and medical services to the Ilonggos,” she said.
“This will surely complement the existing nine licensed hospitals in the city. Aside from this, the creation of the ICH opens a myriad of socio-economic benefits such as more opportunities, and livelier business environment,” the lady lawmaker further said.
The hospital will rise in Barangay San Pedro, Molo district.IMT
