The Iloilo City glGovernment, through the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), assured that safety measures and emergency preparedness are in place for the upcoming celebration of the Dinagyang Festival 2020.
Donna Magno, CDRRMO head, said that they have organized their resources that will be utilized to ensure emergency preparedness.
“We have activated our different sub-task groups and the different ambulance units which will be deployed in various areas,” she said.
She said that they have tapped 16 organizations that will install their ambulance units and deploy their personnel.
“The Office of Civil Defense (OCD-6 ) will also augment our resources by deploying three ambulance units,” she said.
She said that they are also activating the Emergency Operations Center which will serve as the “nerve center” of all the response centers in the metropolis.
She also said that a tent hospital will also be established at the Bureau of Customs building here.
Meanwhile, Magno advised those who would witness and join in the festivities to also ensure personal safety.
She added that it is vital that the public should prioritize personal safety, take care of their valuables, and to stay hydrated during the celebration.Leonard Pineda I /PIA-Iloilo
