Police Colonel Marlon Tayaba, former director of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), passed away. He was 52.
Tayaba died of colon cancer on Sunday evening, Feb. 16, at Iloilo Mission Hospital.
He led the IPPO from 2017 to 2019. One of his top accomplishments was the neutralization of Western Visayas’ alleged drug kingpin Richard Prevendido.
After his stint at the IPPO, Tayaba was appointed as chief of the directorial staff and deputy regional director for operation of the Police Regional Office (PRO-6).
PRO-6 Director Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan expressed sorrow over the death of Tayaba.
He described Tayaba as one of their “best senior officers.”
“[Tayaba] has contributed so much in our organization with his notable accomplishments,” Pamuspusan said.
“He will be remembered not only for his achievements but for his dedication to service and for being a good officer and a mentor to his juniors,” he added.IMT
