A taxi was damaged after it was hit by a fallen tree along General Luna Street in Iloilo City early Wednesday morning, Sept. 18.
The huge tree, planted in the middle of the road, fell on the front part of the passing taxi at around 5:40 a.m.
The vehicle’s driver, Alejandro Casipe, and his female passenger were unhurt. They were heading to the Iloilo International Airport when the incident happened.
According to Casipe, the tree was toppled a strong gust of wind.
“Gulpi lang nagbaskog ang hangin. Nakibot kami gulpi man natumba ang kahoy” he said.
The cost of damage has yet to be determined.IMT
