A huge fire erupted at a shopping mall in the town of San Jose de Buenavista, Antique province on Thursday afternoon, June 17.
Initial investigation showed that the blaze started at the second floor of Gaisano Grand Mall past 5 p.m.
Mayor Elmer Untaran said the fire spread quickly since the second floor houses a department store.
He added that liquefied petroleum gas tanks helped fan the fire, which lasted for more or less five hours.
About 33 fire trucks responded to help suppress the fire whose cause is still being investigated by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
The extent and cost of damage are still undetermined.
No injuries or casualties were reported.
