An estimated P2.3 million worth of properties went up in smoke when a fire hit a residential area in the town of Estancia, Iloilo province on Sunday afternoon, April 4.
The fire affected 12 houses in Purok 1, Barangay Bulaqueña, of which seven were totally damaged and five were partially damaged.
According to Senior Fire Officer 4 Rex Magallanes of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP-Estancia), the fire originated from an ancestral house owned by the Baylon family.
An investigation is still ongoing to find out the cause of the fire.IMT
