Firm proposes to develop podcar transport system in Iloilo City

Future of Transport (Futran) Philippines Inc. proposed to establish a podcar transport system in Iloilo City.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, April 18, Mayor Jerry Treñas said the mobility company presented to him the “exciting” proposal.

Podcars are small low-capacity automated vehicles operating on a network of specially built guideways. They are currently being used in China, Japan, and Germany.

“With the potential implementation of podcars, we can finally bid farewell to the frustrating traffic and usher in a new era of sustainable commuting,” said Treñas.

“This game-changing investment is a testament to the power of public-private partnerships in uplifting the lives of our citizens,” he added.

The proposed state-of-the-art automated, low-cost mass transportation system is a 100 percent green concept and will use solar energy to energize.

Futran Philippines entered the country in 2022. Its mother company, Futran Global, is in the business of green mobility, transport systems, electrical systems and container haulage systems.IMT
